How it works, in detail

   Filter before you freeze

   One site, one client, one class of workers: you isolate the slice of the period you care about and work on that alone. Useful when one general contractor has to be invoiced separately, or when a site wraps up before the period ends.

   A partial run does not cut off the rest

   Locking a slice does not lock the whole period: the other sites stay editable, and the global hour banks of the employees involved are not cut in two. The rest of the period is handled afterwards, normally.

   Every slice keeps its trace

   Partial runs appear in the history with their filter, their total and their author. So months later you can explain why one period produced three pre-payroll files instead of one.
