How it works, in detail

   They fill themselves in

   A timesheet is not a form to key in: it is the result of the week's punches, line by line, with the project, the actual hours and the gaps against the planned shift. What is left to do is read it and approve it.

   Everyone sees only what concerns them

   The Employee account opens their own timesheets; the Supervisor account, their crew's. Neither sees hourly rates, billing or other crews. And like everything else: an account that wrote nothing during the month costs nothing.

   Adding or removing hours always comes with a reason

   A day can be corrected both ways: fifteen minutes more for the shift that ran long, an hour less for the lunch nobody clocked. But the moment a timesheet built from punches has its hours changed, a written reason becomes mandatory: with no explanation, the change is refused. That is what separates an owned correction ("badge forgotten, 7:00 a.m. arrival confirmed by the foreman") from a number quietly rounded off, and it is that note the audit trail keeps beside the previous value.

   Until a timesheet is approved, it stands apart

   Unapproved hours count in the totals on screen, but their overtime is not locked in and they are excluded from exports. The dashboard shows how many are left at all times, so none is forgotten on payday.
