How it works, in detail

   A self-employed worker is not an employee

   No decree covers them: they are not paid through payroll, they invoice their hours at the agreed rate. Clic Horaire therefore keeps two separate paths (pre-payroll on one side, accounts payable on the other) and computes GST, QST and the per-payee total for the calendar year. That count is what your accountant picks up for the year-end slip, a T5018 in construction and a T4A elsewhere: Clic Horaire gives you the figure, it neither produces nor files the slip. Mixing the two paths is exactly the kind of gap an inspection spots first.

   Certificates watch themselves

   A third-party company's record carries its NEQ, its CNESST number, its GST and QST numbers, its RBQ number and the date of its CNESST certificate. Expired or about to expire, the list flags it on its own: nobody has to keep a reminder in their calendar. A company you remove goes to the trash, its workers stay attached and the history remains intact.

   The bridge between two companies

   Invite the company behind a record to open its own Clic Horaire workspace. The link covers that record and the workers already in place with you: each side keeps its own data and rules, but principal and subcontractor see the same shared roster, and a messaging channel opens between them. Only the account holder can accept a link, and a link can be suspended or revoked when the relationship ends.
