Biometric punch confirmation
Face ID, fingerprint or device passcode: the phone confirms it really is its owner punching, before the punch goes out. No biometric data is collected, transmitted or stored: neither by Clic Horaire nor by the employer.

The fingerprint and the face NEVER leave the device's secure chip (Secure Enclave on iOS, TEE or Titan on Android). The operating system checks the identity locally and hands the app a verdict only: true or false. Clic Horaire receives one more punch, identical to every other.
How it works, in detail

The phone left on the cafeteria table
This is the costliest situation, and nobody talks about it: an employee leaves their phone on a table during their break, and an obliging co-worker "opens their day" or "closes their shift" for them. With biometric confirmation, the device asks for its owner's finger or face: nobody else can touch that shift.

A protection for the employee as much as for the employer
This is not surveillance: it is what guarantees the employee that their hours are theirs. A shift opened at 6:40 by somebody else means an employee blamed for a lateness they didn't have, or paid for hours they didn't work, both end up as a complaint.

The native fallback is part of the feature, not a failure
In restaurants, janitorial work, hair salons or on a construction site, fingers are wet, gloved or covered in product half the time. The app then accepts the device's PIN or pattern, which proves exactly the same thing: whoever holds the phone is whoever unlocked it.

Employee-controlled, never imposed silently
The option lives in the employee's profile, on by default when the device supports it. A phone with no sensor and no screen lock is never blocked: the punch goes out normally. Locking somebody out because their device is old would be a far worse failure than a co-worker's punch.
